Science and Children Online: Sept 2002
One of our goals at Science and
Children is to make use of the Internet to provide our members with
as many resources as possible. This month, the online versions of
several articles include downloadable and printable
worksheets to help you complete some of the activities featured in the
print pages of the September 2002 journal. Look for the highlighted
links within the articles. You'll find the pictures and
tally sheets you'll need if you'd like to participate in Assessing
Students' Ideas about Plants, the biodiversity worksheets to get
your students doing their own fieldwork like the authors did in Backyard
Biodiversity, and the museum worksheets used in the feature Talking
Bones. You will need the Acrobat Reader plug-in to download these
worksheets. Special thanks to Dr. Lloyd
Barrow, a science education professor at the University of Missouri, who
shared some additional activities teachers can do with earthworms in the
classroom. See The
Dirt on Worms. We've also provided
some samples of student work to go along with the article There
Go Those Kids in Nature.
